Cuttyhunk - Barges Beach

Location: Cuttyhunk

Visitors to Cuttyhunk Island—the largest and southeastern most of the Elizabeth Islands—have enjoyed peaceful walks on Barges Beach for years. The walk extends east from the ferry landing at the fuel dock with the harbor entrance channel on your left as you walk out toward Canapitsit Channel, which runs between Cuttyhunk and Nashawena Island. At the far end of the stonewall jetty on the left, walkers must walk on the northerly side of the beach (closest to the harbor channel) to steer clear of fragile sand dunes.
