WINE AND MUSIC WEDNESDAYS

FOOD ON FILM SERIES

A fresh take on dinner and a movie, the Wellfleet Preservation Hall and Lola’s Local Food Lab have partnered for a fourth year to host “Food on Film.” Attendees take in a thought-provoking feature film while noshing on a small plate dinner inspired by the movie. This year’s theme is “Table Manners: Recipes for Polite Society.” The series is held on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. The film on March 31 is I am Love; and on April 14, Metropolitan. JAM-MAKING WORKSHOPS

Learn how to make all kinds of jam delights, including apple pie jam, cherry apricot jam, strawberry rhubarb jam, and more on Saturday mornings, through April 30, in the historic 1903 Jam Kitchen, operated by the Thornton Burgess Society in East Sandwich. The Saturday morning classes are for adults from 9:30-11:30 a.m. (Children’s classes and other workshops are available on other days.) Each class is $45 ($35 for members), and participants can bring home four to six (6 oz.) jars of their own preserves. Pre-registration is required. FALMOUTH HOSTS “DAFFODIL DAYS”

A vista of thousands of blooming daffodils is an incredible sight to see at the six-acre Spohr Gardens in Falmouth—especially after a long winter. NANTUCKET’S DAFFODIL FESTIVAL

As the winter chill leaves Nantucket, millions of yellow, orange, white and pink daffodils spring from the island earth. The flowers’ return is celebrated at the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Daffodil Festival with garden shows, picnics, pageants, and parades. Celebrate the Cape’s rich maritime history during the 23rd annual Cape Cod Maritime Days. FEED A BUTTERFLY IN BREWSTER

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster offers the rare opportunity to feed a butterfly this summer. EVENTIDE THEATRE IN DENNIS HOSTS PIANO CONCERT

Renowned pianist Robert Wyatt returns to the Eventide Theatre with a performance remembering Gertrude Lawrence, a Broadway actress with Cape connections. Lawrence lived in Dennis for many years and played an important role in the Cape’s rich theatrical history. TAYLOR-BRAY FARM’S ANNUAL SHEEP FESTIVAL

The annual Sheep Festival at Taylor-Bray Farm, 108 Bray Farm Road North, Yarmouthport, features sheep herding and shearing demonstrations, an exhibition of wooly animals, wool spinning and rug hooking, wool dyeing and more. Children will enjoy viewing the animals and taking a hayride around the farm. The festival is resented by the Taylor-Bray Farm Preservation Association on Sunday, June 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.

Held Saturday, June 18, the Orleans Historical Society Antiques Show brings together more than 35 antique dealers from around the Cape and beyond. The Benjamin Nye Homestead & Museum in East Sandwich, hosts a free opening day open house Saturday, June 18, from 12-4 p.m. Docents will be in costume in rooms furnished to different time periods. A TEATIME TRADITION IN ORLEANS

A Cape Cod tradition for more than a quarter century, the Harborside Tea at the Community of Jesus is a two-course, plated tea event in the elegant Bethany Guest House overlooking Rock Harbor in Orleans. SUMMER ANTIQUE SHOW

On your mark . . . get set . . . treasure hunt! The 46th Annual Summer Antique Show in Orleans features a wide array of 19th- and early 20th-century antiques, cultivated by 40 quality antique dealers. Held Friday, August 12, from 5-8 p.m., and Saturday, August 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event helps fund the Cape Cod Antique Dealers Association’s cultural student scholarships and cultural enrichment fund. OAK BLUFFS’ MAGICAL ILLUMINATION NIGHT

On Wednesday, August 17, at 7:30 p.m., traditional Chinese paper lanterns are hung outside of the famous gingerbread cottages that line the Oak Bluffs Campground. Lanterns are lit at sundown and burn through the night. Originally marking the close of the summer season for the campground Grand Illumination Night has become one of the most popular summer spectacles on the island. This is a free event at the Tabernacle in the Camp Meeting ground. A Community Sing and band concert are also held in the Tabernacle. Donations are accepted. For more information, go to mvcma.org.
