Becky Drozell can’t remember a time when Mid-Cape Home Centers was not part of her life. Drozell has been one of the most successful kitchen and bath designers at the company for 15 years. “But Mid-Cape has been in my life longer than I have been alive,” says Drozell with a laugh. “My father has worked there for 40 years!”

Drozell says she and her father “cover the complete job spectrum” at Mid-Cape; she is one of a crew of 12 designers, and her Dad is the head of maintenance for the company’s fleet of vehicles. With approximately 200 employees in the Wellfleet, Dennis, Orleans, Martha’s Vineyard, Middleboro, and Plymouth locations, Mid-Cape still has been able to build strong relationships with its employees, Drozell notes. “It is just a really family-oriented place,” she says.

Drozell, who was born and raised in Dennis, says it is surprising just how big the kitchen/bath division of Mid-Cape has become. “Obviously, we still focus on lumber and building materials, but the kitchen and bath division has grown enormously,” she says.

The new showroom in Plymouth promises to be a huge asset for contractors, homeowners, and the Mid-Cape design staff. “Most of our customers are second-home owners who live off-Cape, and the Plymouth showroom will be a great place where we can meet in a central location,” Drozell says.

When she is asked what she loves most about her job, Drozell doesn’t hesitate. “The most rewarding part of my job is the creativity that I enjoy everyday,” she says. “I finish one project for a homeowner and then I start with a new design for a new customer. It is just a very fulfilling job.”
