Fletcher and Walden stripped the living room’s original wall paneling and the mantel of centuries of paint. They painted the wall paneling with a fresh coat of olive green, while they finished the mantel in a smoky charcoal. The living room furnishings include wonderful finds from the past: an 18th-century tiger maple high chest of drawers, bow back Windsors with original green paint dating back to the 1780s, a 1790s Queen Anne tea table doubles as the coffee table, a circa 1780 American desk, and an 1810 sofa complete the living room’s décor. The plaster walls were repaired and papered using a Brunswig and Fils pattern.
