Whitfield, a licensed acupuncturist, takes a holistic approach to skincare. To promote healing of facial skin—including sun damage—she offers Energy Light Rejuvenation, a combination of micro-current and therapeutic light and color treatment, following acupuncture points ($95 per treatment, less if the client has a series of treatments). “The body responds to wavelength and color,” Whitfield says. She also uses Chinese medicine, which, she says, adheres to the belief that “a healthy complexion is a reflection of a healthy inner terrain. It’s healing in a holistic way.”

Dr. Hamori, a plastic surgeon, says her services are plastic surgery, facial injectibles, and skin services. She estimates that 95 percent of her patients have sun damage; and her Cape clients commonly come to her with lines on the face and neck from sun exposure. “Most of the damage done is during our teens and 20s,” Dr. Hamori says. “These are very difficult to treat, but the lines can be softened with laser treatments and collagen stimulators” ($250-$3,000 per treatment).
