When I chime into the sights and sounds of surrounding natural beauty, I relax. When I relax I become more aware of the people I care about. I find myself conscious of the love around me, am reminded of the value of shared laughter, and appreciative of the moments we share. My son, Max, asked me to go fishing with him; we caught a striped bass. Max is good company. My son, Josh, and I had a cup of coffee together as we shared and compared ideas about entrepreneurism. He had a very successful summer on Cuttyhunk. My wife, Judy, and I walked our favorite beach and took a swim together. Judy is my best friend. Sam, our black Lab, curled up on the floor by my feet while I was writing. Sam is Judy’s best friend. In all of these moments, I was conscious of the fact that I was having fun.
Cape Cod Life magazine is your ticket to the “world apart.” Hopefully, when you allow yourself time with Cape Cod Life you are reminded of your favorite relaxation spots. This could in turn, lead to a decision to “get out of the office,” whatever that means for each of us. Next thing we know, we are marveling at the simple beauty found in the natural curve of the shoreline. After a couple days of this, we find that it is more fun to be with our families, our friends, and ourselves.
Here’s a thought: why not share the fun? The holidays are coming. Order Cape Cod Life for someone else whose well-being is important to you. I think we always feel better when we do something nice for someone else. I hope the holidays and the new year bring fun and peace of mind to you, your family, and your friends.
