I grew up on the South Shore in Randolph. I started out as a high school English teacher, primarily in ninth grade. I went to Boston College for my undergrad in English and my masters in education, and from there I headed off to the Bronx to teach in the inner city. I actually liked it, I liked it a lot. I came back to Massachusetts and married my husband, and we’ve been married for 15 years.
