Things To Do

The Brewster Historical Society has created a brochure for self-guided tours of the town’s rich historical sites. Visit sea captains’ houses, the herring run and grist mill, and the society’s own Windmill Village. The brochure is illustrated with images taken from turn-of-the-century glass plate negatives, making it a true collector’s item.

At nearly 2,000 acres, Nickerson State Park offers 400 campsites, hiking trails, and a bike path connecting to the Cape Cod Rail Trail. The ponds are stocked with trout, and the trees are inhabited by numerous bird species, so bring your fishing pole and your binoculars. The park staff offers many seasonal interpretive and recreational programs.

Beach It!

Joanne Pearson Paine’s Creek has something to offer sun lovers and nature lovers alike. The beach is creek fed, so bring your favorite inflatable float or inner tube and enjoy a lazy river ride through the marsh and out to the beach. Explore the tidal pools, where you’ll discover a variety of sea creatures. Visitors describe the beach as a peaceful spot with a great view.
