Don’t-Miss Dining

Find an inventive, seasonally driven menu at L’Etoile in Edgartown—how about Lobster Mac & Cheese with Black Truffle & Crispy Bacon? In the warmer months, take a table in the tented outdoor garden terrace.

The Sidecar Café and Bar in Oak Bluffs is recommended by locals for its warm atmosphere and delicious food made with the locally grown ingredients. The menu ranges from simple burgers to dishes like Asparagus Stuffed Salmon.

The  Artcliff Diner in Vineyard Haven is great for breakfast. It’s unfussy and almost always packed. Order up standard breakfast fare, or try a little twist—like French toast stuffed with fresh blackberries and cream cheese.

Point of Interest

Even though the Vineyard is fewer than 10 miles away from the mainland, this relative seclusion has made it a favorite destination for political and entertainment royalty. Celebrities who live on the island or regularly visit it include James Taylor, Carly Simon, President Barack Obama, Former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, David Letterman, Bill Murray, Ted Danson, Larry David, Meg Ryan, and Mike Wallace.
