Point of Interest
Nantucket isn’t exactly known for its hills, but if you’re looking for panoramic views of the island and beyond, Altar Rock is one of the highest vantage points on the island. The rock sits in the Middle Moors conservation land, which is enriched with kettle ponds and cranberry bogs. The entrance to the trail to reach Altar Rock is off of Polpis Road, directly across from Quaise Road. Once you reach the top, there are many other trails to explore.
