From the hungriest child to the most detail-conscious diners, there’s a taste for every appetite on the menu at the Wild Goose Tavern, adjoined to the Chatham Wayside Inn in the heart of Main Street. “We try to balance between Cape Cod favorites and world flavors,” says executive chef Dan Spurlock.
Striking this balance means incorporating the region’s seafood and produce throughout the menu, including its Shared Menu appetizer selections. “We change our specials every few days, depending on the freshest catch or whatever was just pulled out of the ground,” Spurlock says.
Depending on your desired ambiance, the restaurant has more than 200 seats spread across an open dining room, a pub-style area, a quiet patio, and a newly renovated porch along Main Street, which—thanks to heaters and drop curtains—offers outdoor eating even on the chilliest nights.
Carefully prepared dishes sourced from local ingredients are the order of the day at this former 19th-century stagecoach stop.
