Ruby Port Sauce

Total Time:3.5 hours


  • 3 cups cranberries
  • 1 cup Port wine
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice


  1. Place all ingredients in a 2-quart saucepan. On high heat stir to boiling. Reduce heat to medium. Continue to stir and cook until most cranberries pop.
  2. Remove from stove. Cool. Spoon sauce into airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours so that mixture thickens.
