Best of Cape Cod & the Islands Awards History
2021 marks the 30th anniversary of Cape Cod Life’s Best of Cape Cod & the Islands Awards, making it the longest-running “Best of” contest in the region, with winners chosen by readers like you! The Best of awards have traditionally served as a way for Cape Cod Life to connect with thousands of locals and visitors, giving you the opportunity to share the people, places, and things they love best about the Cape and Islands.
Last year, we heard from the most Cape and Islands-lovers to date, tallying over 74,000 votes. The result was more than 800 gold and silver winners across six different regions and over 400 categories, plus a new, comprehensive digital guide directing visitors to the very best of the region in dining, food & drink, lodging, shopping, and things to do. In 2021, we hope to hear from even more people so that we can continue to recognize those putting in the hard work and demonstrating the kind of spirit that makes Cape Cod and the Islands such a vibrant, resilient community.
Let’s face it: 2020 has been a challenging year. More than ever, we’re looking forward to some bright spots to come in 2021, with our annual Best of roundup topping the list. Stay tuned for the ultimate guide to the people, places, food, drinks, arts, and more that make Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard so special.
Annual Photography Contest
In 1979, Brian Shortsleeve founded Cape Cod Life with two specific goals. First, to share his love for the Cape & Islands, and second, to do so through beautiful photography.
Our Annual Photography Contest pays homage to Brian’s original mission by sharing the hard work of local photographers, honoring the early morning hours they spend out in the marshes of Sandwich or along the dunes of Truro trying to immortalize one perfect, Cape Cod moment.
