Tivoli Day, Martha’s Vineyard

September 16 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

The Bounty of the Season: Articles on farmers and food artisans throughout the Cape & Islands, September/October 2017 Cape Cod LIFE | capecodlife.com

Looking for a late summer adventure? How about a day of music, food and fun on Martha’s Vineyard? During the 40th annual Tivoli Day, Circuit Street in Oak Bluffs will be home to more than 100 local arts, crafts and food vendors. “It’s our biggest off-season event of the year,” says Dennis DaRosa, president of the Oak Bluffs Association, which hosts the event. Local bands such as Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish and the Phil DaRosa Project will perform, as will Nashville country bands including Second Hand Super Band. By the way, what is Tivoli Day? The festival began simply in 1977 when two longtime Vineyard residents, the late Ed Coogan and Michael Wild, decided they wanted to create an event to liven up the off-season. The name commemorates the Tivoli Dance Hall, a former island landmark. For more information, email Christine Todd at obainfo@yahoo.com.
