2017 Life Annual Guide: Martha’s Vineyard
Looking for a place to stay?
A double dose of island style
The Christopher Hotel in Edgartown marries Vineyard charm with Caribbean style. Formerly the Victorian Inn, The Christopher opened its doors under new management in May 2016. “The owners are in love with St. Bart’s,” says co-manager Julie Accursio-Gibbs, explaining the hotel’s decor and overall tropical vibe.
The 15 guestrooms feature designs from Boston-based designer Annsley McAleer in bright colors such as turquoise and coral, as well as multiple textures and styles, ranging from batik prints to rattan furniture. Natural light shines throughout, and music from the islands creates a festive ambiance in the parlor.
“When we take a reservation, we try and find out as much as we can about our guests so we can tailor their experience to them,” adds Julie’s partner, Marla Accursio-Gibbs. “We like to think of the Christopher as a ‘second home’ for our guests.”
