The Village Garden Club of Dennis hosts another spectacular tour of gardens and distinctive properties not to be missed.

For many throughout the Cape, time spent on their decks and patios, their garden, or the space that has come to be defined as their yard, is as valuable as time spent on the beach or on the water in a boat. Gardening has been a popular pastime for ages and during the recent pandemic, confinement to our homes prompted a new perspective for many. Yet, arguably what sets gardening  apart from many other passions is the universal nature of the activity. Gardening can be enjoyed across a large variety of scales and can be as big or as small of an investment of time and resources as anyone determines. But perhaps the greatest appeal for most gardeners is the sharing of design ideas, plant varieties and successful outcomes of common challenges. That is precisely the reason local garden clubs across the region are thriving as though they have recently been fertilized.

This June, the Village Garden Club of Dennis is hosting another one of their spectacular and memorable garden tours. What makes this year’s tour particularly special is that it spans the entire town of Dennis, from Cape Cod Bay to Nantucket Sound. Co-chaired this year by members Kathleen Ozella and Colleen Baldelli, the mission was to bring unique and unexpected properties to the roster of participants. The tour, Hidden Gems, A Tour of Dennis Gardens, includes access to self-guided tours of seven stunning properties including a historic inn as well as the awe-inspiring Seawind Meadows which raises Scottish Highland cattle.
