Coffee Obsession

Coffee isn’t simply a morning ritual, it’s a common language and a bond among those who enjoy it, spoken in talk of espresso shots, oat or almond milk splashes, and tempting seasonal creations. These eight coffee shops keep locals buzzing and visitors returning. Perhaps some are already favorites that you could find with your eyes closed while others might have you setting your GPS to embark on a caffeination destination. Each spot offers up its own unique atmosphere, personality, and perfect pours. Consider this your official excuse to espresso yourself Cape Cod–style.

Coffee Obsession

110 Palmer Avenue, Falmouth and 38 Water Street, Woods Hole

Coffee Obsession has two locations—Falmouth and Woods Hole. The Falmouth spot has been a community staple for 30 years, with the Woods Hole café following close behind, open for business for nearly 20 years. Originally founded by Hugh Birmingham, the business was passed on in 2023 to two longtime employees—Adam and Tara Schrader. Leslie Hatton

Leslie (Horne) Hatton enthusiastically joined Cape Cod Life in October of 2022. Educated in Mashpee and Falmouth, she graduated from Assumption College and received her Master of Education degree from Lesley College. A former teacher, she has taught middle school, preschool and most recently, fifth grade. She and her husband Tom have three children: Aidan, Colin, and Erin. Their newest family member is Millie, an outgoing, outrageously happy chocolate lab. She loves to talk about all of them so better not ask. One neat tidbit about Leslie is that she is the author of the locally best-selling children’s book Cape Cod ABCs, with over 10K books sold on Cape Cod, the Islands and across Massachusetts. Happiest in the summer with a little sun on her face, she loves being with friends and her family, laughing, drinking and eating all over beautiful Cape Cod.
