A stay at The Christopher in historic Edgartown leaves a lasting impression—until your next stay.

Time spent indulging in self-care and luxurious indulgence is too rare these days. The Christopher, one of the bespoke properties that makes up The Edgartown Collection, offers the perfect stay for renewal of spirit.

For Edgartown hoteliers Chuck and Anne Hajjar, their properties are an extension of family—literally. Opening their first boutique property on the Vineyard in 2015, The Sydney, they named it in honor of their only daughter. Subsequent properties in the charming village followed, including The Christopher, each reflecting the unique spirit of a member of their family.

Anne Hajjar’s creativity is immediately evident upon entering any of the distinctive properties; where interpretation of her children’s personalities through décor sets them apart. Acquiring The Christopher, fresh off a family vacation to St. Barths, Anne wanted something completely different from other Vineyard offerings. Boston designer Annsley McAleer of Annsley Interiors introduced walls in deep hues of turquoise and indigo and phyletic, tribal-inspired wallpaper that evoke the 18th-century colonialism of the West Indies. Guests are immediately transported. “I had the kind of global traveler who was used to a cosmopolitan sophistication in mind when we came up with the design,” she explains. Hand-blocked prints, Ikat patterns, and saturated colors ground the space and deliver the true getaway she envisioned at The Christopher.
