As summer arrives on Cape Cod the urge to hit the road comes on strong. For some the fun of scenic drives, off-roading adventures, and taking their classic cars out of hibernation have them throwing the top down and the windows open on the first warm days of spring. Others are filled with the dread of standstill bridge traffic and beach parking lots that are filled before most people are done with breakfast.
On one day every year the best of both worlds merge in Hyannis during the annual Father’s Day Car Show where traffic disappears and Main Street becomes a vibrant, mile-long pedestrian promenade lined with hundreds of rare and unique vehicles.

The Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce Annual Father’s Day Car Show was conceived over 30 years ago with the aim of creating an iconic event that would celebrate community and draw visitors to Main Street in a unique way. It began modestly enough with a handful of classic car enthusiasts and local businesses coming together around a shared passion.
Over the years the event has evolved into one of the largest single-day events on Cape Cod. “It’s not just a car show anymore—it’s a tradition,” says Marty Bruemmel, President and CEO of the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce. “You’ll see grandparents sharing stories with grandchildren about cars they once owned and families strolling together. It’s a multi-generational event that resonates well beyond car enthusiasts.”
