New England Country Mart
Spring has sprung, the dust is being swept away from the front porch and windows are being polished to welcome the sunny days ahead into our homes on the Cape. Whether you live here year round or are anxiously planning every activity of your visit, maximizing your time as well as your enjoyment is paramount. New England Country Mart, a unique retail operation founded on the principles of a fourth-generation whole produce company, is being spotted across the Cape as they deliver thoughtfully sourced, high quality produce and food products not otherwise found in this area. Co-founders Elyssa and Jeff Kotzen saw the opportunity to bring fresh local products straight to our doors, at a time when delivery has become a daily occurrence. “New England Country Mart was born in the wake of the pandemic,” Elyssa explains. The genesis of the company has evolved from serving commercial establishments, to now delivering directly to the consumer. Today, people are staying home, but haven’t given up the thrill of discovering new products and treats, a feature that makes NECM’s new home delivery division of the company a fresh and exciting option.
Fast forward to today, they have over 1,000 products ranging from organic produce to baked goods; along with a line of prepared foods and customizable gifts baskets. “We’ve really tried to adapt to what our customers’ needs are. A good bulk of the products that we carry are based upon customer feedback,” explains Elyssa. “My husband and I travel to farmers’ markets to find new local products because that’s really our mission, to bring together local producers with the communities we serve.” Kotzen’s words are backed up by a robust offering that includes premium and specialty products like dumplings and savory buns from Dumpling Daughter, a Boston area authentic Chinese restaurant serving homestyle fare. Another fan favorite, Eastern Standard Provisions, with their Oprah-endorsed soft pretzel bites, is finding their way into Cape Cod kitchens via an eagerly anticipated NECM delivery. Their premium cuts of meat arrive just in time to transform backyard bar-b-que gatherings from ho-hum to how-did-you-make-this sessions. Ingredients that are routinely found at some of Boston’s best restaurants, like local and organic produce, the finest locally caught fish, or freshly made, innovative pasta from Lilly’s Fresh Pasta, are all sourced as locally and sustainably as possible.
“We really believe these items highlight that we aren’t your average home delivery service, but rather an insider’s access to the best the Boston area and New England have to offer,” Kotzen explains. “Above all, we help make a summer on the Cape one of convenience and superior quality, so people can spend their time with the ones they love, doing what they want. After all, what always brings us together? Good food!”
New England Country Mart serves the Greater-Boston area with expanded service to Cape Cod, Rhode Island, and Southern New Hampshire, with more expansions in the works, such as delivery to Martha’s Vineyard, coming this summer.
