Cape & Islands Architects and Builders
When Chris Childs joined Patriot Builders in 2003—he is now a partner in the company and the firm’s principal designer—what drew him to the company was not only their reputation for quality work, but also how well the company’s clients were served.
“This company really takes care of people, and the people who work here really believe they have the ability to create a rewarding personal experience for every client,” Childs says.
“We’re small enough to keep it a personal experience, but we are also large enough to have the resources to get things done quickly.”
A full-service firm, Patriot Builders specialize in custom home designs and builds as well as kitchen remodeling and home additions. The Harwichport-based company has been serving the Cape since 1993 and has an in-house staff of seven. When it comes to design, Childs says his philosophy is to approach each project by listening to the client carefully to create a successful design tailored to that customer’s unique lifestyle and individual needs.
“Keep an open mind, be creative, and come up with good solutions,” Childs says is Patriot Builders’ approach. “That’s how we try to excel.” Keeping lines of communication open with all the players in each project is key, adds Childs, as well as keeping clients up-to-date and addressing any of their concerns as fast as possible.
For Childs, making someone’s dream home a reality and helping them through that process it is very gratifying
“Seeing the end result, from the concept to the completion of the project—being proud of what we’ve done, and also knowing that the client is very happy with the end result,” he says, delivers the greatest satisfaction.
