We all have a special place where we can go and reboot and help us face the world another day. My favorite spot, the one I can walk to in any season and in any weather is Wixon’s Dock in West Harwich. When I start heading down Harbor Way and see the sun sparkling on the water, I know I’ll soon be entering a place that feels like it’s from another time. I’ve taken scores of photos there over the years and it never fails to refresh and motivate me to keep moving forward.

Always looking 

for a new view

and perspective.

From the dock

and the river,

the jetty,

and the Sound

to the Fish House Redemption

and the Old Mill with all its secrets.

Locals will ask me,

“Where are you from?”

thinking I’m a tourist

seeing it for the first time.

No. I live here too,

but always see it in a different light.

Sometimes you don’t have to travel far

to feel renewed.
