It has been said, “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” If that is true, it stands that, “To create an arrangement, celebrates the day.” In Amy McCord’s new book Blooms Every Day she offers instruction, inspiration and instant satisfaction with her exquisite vignettes of floral arrangements bursting forth in every shade and hue found in the rainbow.

McCord, whose career path pin-balled from medicine, to piloting helicopters, to forensics, ultimately landed in the wedding planning business. Out of the gate, necessity demanded she create the floral arrangements for her very first bride. While she chronicles her first floral foray with humor, she reveals that the world of botanicals lured her to explore a world of possibility.

Starting at her kitchen table, and then a spare bedroom, her new venture, Flower Moxie, was aptly named as it exemplified the intrepid nature McCord seemingly brings to each of her life adventures. Through her burgeoning business she discovered that as much as she loved working with flowers and discovering their ultimate potential, she actually loved educating and exposing others to the joy found in florals. That is how McCord added “author” to her vast resume.

Her encouragement for novices or experts inspires anyone to create something beautiful from something that starts as exquisite. “Flowers found me when I wasn’t looking.
