Sweet Dreams: Wrapped in Wonder

Marc Sievers brings a swirl of whimsy, nostalgia, and pastel-colored joy to Main Street in Osterville.

The enchanting new sweet shop Candyville on Main Street in Osterville feels like a store that’s tucked inside a childhood memory; one of cotton-candy pinks, mint greens and sherbet shades. For owner Marc Sievers, the candy stores of his childhood weren’t just ordinary shops—they were places of wonder, where even a single piece of candy felt like a thrill. It’s this feeling of magic and excitement he hopes to create for every person who walks through the doors of his own store.

Sievers, a cookbook author and entertaining expert, also owns Fête Among the Flowers and has been a fixture on Main Street since 2024; connecting with customers through his curated collection of gourmet foods, lifestyle pieces and bespoke floral designs. Sievers is no stranger to creating spaces that feel both refined and inviting. When the idea of Candyville was born, he shares, “I wanted to create a place that felt magical whether you’re a toddler, a teen or a grandparent.”

There’s something about a candy store that pulls on the heartstrings of any age, and Candyville captures that sense of nostalgia like a joyful trip back in time. With its location in the heart of Main Street and its original hardwood floors that date back to the early 1900s, it feels quintessentially Cape Cod, but his creative design touches—lamps of pink feathers to chandeliers that sparkle—are nothing short of modern magic. “It’s just a very special, special store,” Sievers beams.

Designed with the simple intention of putting a smile on every visitor’s face, despite its name Candyville is more than a candy store—it is an experience meant to delight every generation that visits, from children in search of trendy treats to grandparents rediscovering the sweets of their youth.

Everything Sievers has touched is with intention, even the subtle soundtrack that ranges from old sock hop classics to Taylor Swift to The Beach Boys, ensuring that everyone who walks through the door hears something that feels familiar and special. “The shop itself is truly a labor of love,” he adds, noting the artistic touch of local artist and decorative painter Kathleen Collings who handpainted shades for a chandelier that hangs in the shop’s front window; the same chandelier Sievers painstakingly dismantled and rebuilt with crystals chosen to perfectly match Candyville’s pastel palette.

The efforts all result in a store that feels joyful, whimsical and sentimental. Open year-round, seven days a week, thus far most of their return customers have been adults, which is largely in part due to the wide variety and curated selection at Candyville. Customers can find penny candy but also indulge in luxurious imported chocolate to serve alongside a glass of port.

“It’s a place meant to capture everybody’s heart,” Sievers smiles.
