Miah Hegarty of Sea View Builders reflects upon the use of the Marvin Window Products and the insight provided by Mid-Cape Home Center’s Marvin representative Jonathan Piers.

CCH: A common, yet unfounded, assumption is that Marvin windows are only for high-end projects with astronomical budgets. The reality is that there are Marvin products for almost any application. How would you characterize the product line Marvin offers? And how do you advise your clients when faced with the world of window choices? 

MH: Sea View Builders’ work is primarily high-end, custom residential projects, but even at that level clients are still balancing budgets and priorities. When that comes up, we try to keep the conversation grounded in real performance and long-term results. Marvin makes that easier because we’ve seen how their products hold up over time—especially in our coastal environment. Marvin offers the flexibility to match the window and door package to the architecture, performance demands, and overall goals of the home. When advising clients, we try to narrow the choices by focusing on a few key elements: the design of the house, the home’s exposure and environment, maintenance expectations, and long-term value. We focus less on selling a product and more on guiding clients toward the right long-term decision for their home. The Marvin 7 Tide showroom is also a big help because it gives clients a chance to see and experience the product firsthand, which makes those decisions much clearer.

CCH: As a builder, what features and elements of Marvin windows and doors make your job and your projects successful?
