When landscape designer Paul Miskovsky looked beyond an overgrown Cape Cod yard, he saw not only the garden it could become, but the life its homeowner had quietly imagined for years. Through craftsmanship, creativity and a touch of wonder, an ordinary property was transformed into a place where possibility flourishes around every bend.

Every fairy tale begins in an ordinary place.

Not in castles or enchanted forests, but somewhere familiar—a quiet cottage, a forgotten path, a weathered gate. It begins with someone who senses that life could be more beautiful than it is but doesn’t yet know how to reach it.

For one Upper Cape homeowner, that place was the wooded property surrounding the home she had loved for more than fifteen years. Like so many Cape Cod landscapes, the yard had gradually surrendered itself to nature. Scrub oak, bittersweet vines and tangled undergrowth had crept closer and closer to the house. What had once been open became impenetrable. There was a deck, a narrow path to the front door and little else that invited exploration. Every season reminded her of what the property wasn’t.

“I knew it could be something so much better,” she recalls. “But I didn’t have it within me to figure out what that was.” It wasn’t for lack of trying.
