The cherished island will always hold a special place in the hearts of one couple who vow to return every year.

New England’s iconic island, Nantucket, is home to wind-swept shorelines, cobblestone streets, endless lobster rolls, and glimmering waves. For Logan and Cal Thompson, Nantucket is home to new beginnings: the beginning of their lives as husband and wife and the beginning of a lifelong connection to an island they had never visited before. With a romantic springtime palette of buttercream yellow, periwinkle blue, and seagrass green and just forty-three of their closest family and friends, their June wedding was intimate and timeless.

 The Thompsons, who now reside in Orlando, Florida, both grew up in the Sunshine State. Logan is from Winter Haven, while Cal grew up about two hours away in DeLand. Despite the distance, a series of friendships and connections eventually brought them together. Their story officially began in St. Augustine at a mutual friend’s wedding. Although friends had attempted to introduce them before, the timing had never been quite right. At the wedding, Cal finally approached Logan and introduced himself.

 “We hit it off and had a great time at that wedding,” the couple recalls. Soon afterward, Logan traveled to DeLand to visit the same friends whose wedding had brought them together, and the pair went on their first double date with the newlyweds. “I think by the third date, I told them I was going to marry her,” Cal admits, “I knew right away.”
