Owner: Jamie Surprenant • Chef: Jimmy Supka

“I would love for customers to walk away and say that we use fresh ingredients and put a lot of care, love and time into our products.”

“I love developing concepts that fit into neighborhoods and communities,” says Jamie Surprenant, owner of Crisp Flatbread Inc. in Osterville. It’s no surprise, then, that Surprenant owns two other successful restaurants on the Cape, Five Bays Bistro in Osterville and Añejo Mexican Bistro in Falmouth, with a second Añejo location opening this summer in Hyannis.

Surprenant opened Crisp four years ago in an effort to incorporate a casual, family dining location into the town of Osterville. “That neighborhood meeting spot is what we were looking for,” he explains. He credits his wife, Beth, with the classy yet hip design of the restaurant, right down to the restrooms decorated with classic movie posters.

Crisp is known for their delicious flatbreads, but customers can also enjoy original dishes like buffalo meatballs or s’mores kits to roast over the fire pit outside. Almost everything is made from scratch using fresh, local ingredients.

Visitors rave about Crisp’s creative “mocktails”—delicious creations consisting of beer, wine and cider as the base for unique cocktails—which are often enjoyed over a game of table tennis or lively conversation at the bar. “My favorite part about my job is seeing a satisfied customer,” says head chef Jimmy Supka.

“Overall, we try to marry food with hospitality and really pay attention to detail,” says Surprenant. “It’s important to us to always go above and beyond to make the customer happy.”
