“If something you put down in front of people is exceptionally beautiful, they are going to be awestruck and want to enjoy it that much more. That first impression is key.”
– Chef: Philip Flath

With views spanning over Cape Cod Bay, Ocean Terrace at Ocean Edge Resort is the perfect spot to enjoy a warm summer day or a cozy evening inside the mansion. “The inspiration really is the ocean behind us,” says Executive Chef Philip Flath. “I think the setting in its own right makes this restaurant unique.”

Flath describes his food as traditional New England cuisine with an upscale twist. “We’re in this lovely area that has great seafood, which drives our menu,” he says. “I’m passionate about food because of the everyday enjoyment of preparing something unique. That’s what inspires me—having the ability to play.”

The menu at Ocean Terrace changes seasonally to ensure flavor profiles stay fresh and relevant. “Spring generates light flavors to get everybody out of the winter doldrums,” says Flath. “Bright flavors carry us into the summer months, and in the fall, local produce like root vegetables and squashes take over and accentuate a lot of the dishes that we serve.”

“Ocean Terrace has a hip vibe—an upscale but casual atmosphere with high energy and creative food and cocktails,” explains Flath. Diners can also head over to the beach bar for a drink by the shore or enjoy the fire bowls on the terrace.

The service is also as unbeatable as the view. “My favorite thing about coming to work every day is the people I work with,” says Flath. “Their inquisitiveness, energy and enthusiasm inspires me and pushes me to do better every time I’m here.”
