Founder Michael J. Nardone started his career on a very different path as a professional chef. “That’s where my focus on customer service comes from,” he explains about his now 20 years in the building business. “The restaurant business is 100% about customer service, and I’ve taken that element of hospitality and inserted it into my building business.”

MJ Nardone does the majority of their work in-house, meaning that Nardone has a hand in every project the company takes on. “The first thing I do when we take on a new customer is to give them my cell phone number,” he laughs. “We pride ourselves on providing quality service. At the end of a job, I want to be able to shake the customer’s hand and remain friends; for us, it’s about building a relationship, and at the end of the day, as our customer, it’s your home. My job is to advise you, but the decisions are always yours.”

A Massachusetts native, Nardone moved to the Cape in the 1980s and says he never looked back. He finds it essential to be involved in his local community, volunteering and coaching local sports teams. “I have raised my family to appreciate where they live, and to value the relationships they have. I want my employees to do the same. Family is always first,” he says. “I think it’s so important to attend your children’s ball games and recitals. My staff are made aware of this from the day they are hired. It’s so important to me that I expect it of them.” It’s that same dedication to family, the local community, and the relationships built with customers that sets MJ Nardone Building apart.
