Cara Meneses, vice president and co-owner of ARCHWRIGHT Fine Home Builders and Estate Management, remembers the day they opened their new office in Duxbury, MA. Empty and surrounded by blank walls, they worked from fold-up card tables. Now, however, ARCHWRIGHT’s business has high-end residential projects all over Cape Cod, the South Shore, and Boston. Meneses doesn’t spend much time looking backward as she is too busy looking ahead.
She and her business partner, Brian Lafauce, who had worked together for years, shared a similar mindset on a dream business model, so with a leap of faith they established ARCHWRIGHT. “We wanted our business model to be tailored to hone in on the team mentality while building robust relationships with our clients. Construction is complex and often stressful. We wanted to show clients what is fun about the process by bringing their ideas to life by involving them so they can see the level of detail and effort that goes into making a build happen.” With her strong work ethic, attention to detail and thinking-out-of-the-box approach, Meneses truly loves building custom homes. ~ Leslie Hatton
CCH: What part of a project do you enjoy the most?
CM: For me, it’s the thrill of a high-end construction project in its entirety: a new project with a great client, breaking ground or the first lumber drop, when a client throws an idea at the team and we get to bring it to fruition, or on move-in day, when we have our final permits in hand, finishes are sparkling and the feeling in the room is as big as the smile on our client’s face.
