Every year, during deliberations for Cape Cod Life’s Annual Photo Contest, we have the challenging task of choosing 21 winners across five categories including our Grand Prize winner to be featured in our June “Best of” issue of Cape Cod LIFE and on capecodlife.com. The difficulty of this assignment seems to grow year after year as we receive thousands of photo submissions from our talented community.

Three years ago, we had a light bulb moment, “What if we let the readers have a say in our Annual Photo Contest?” This idea stemmed from our beloved Cape Cod & the Islands Readers’ Choice Awards where we ask you, our readers, to cast your votes—it only seemed natural that we do the same with our Annual Photo Contest. Thus, the Readers’ Choice Photo was born!

For the past two years we have encouraged our audience to head over to capecodlife.com to view and vote for their favorite image to be crowned Readers’ Choice Photo. This year, we decided to try something new, which is to feature the selected photos in our July Photo Portfolio, as they all deserve to be recognized—and to encourage even more of you to vote.

In the following pages, you’ll find images that encompass the quintessential New England summer, the ideal Cape Cod evening, and the beauty we are lucky enough to experience day after day, all captured by those selected to be in the running for this years’ award. So let your voice be heard! Cast your vote at capecodlife.com for your favorite photo to be awarded our 2024 Readers’ Choice Photo.
