Bartlett’s Farm Watermelon & Strawberry Spicy Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb strawberries hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 5 cups cubed watermelon plus small wedges for garnish
  • 1 cup Casamigos Blanco tequila
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice about 4 limes
  • 1/4 cup sugar or to taste
  • 1 Tbsp hot honey
  • 1/2 cup flaky sea salt
  • 1/2 cup basil very finely chopped

Instructions

  • Blend the strawberries with the cold water until smooth.
  • Add the watermelon, tequila, lime juice, and sugar. Blend until combined.
  • Pour into a pitcher and chill while you prepare the rim.
  • Pour the hot honey onto one plate, and mix the sea salt and finely chopped basil on another.
  • Rim each glass (mason jars work well) by dipping first in the hot honey, then in the basil-salt mixture.
  • Fill glasses with pebble ice, pour in the margarita, and garnish with a strawberry and a watermelon wedge. Enjoy!

Notes

The farm stand’s watermelon and strawberries, blended into a bright, boozy slush and finished with a hot honey–salt rim. This one is built for a mason jar and a porch—sweet, a little spicy, and dangerously easy to refill
