September/October 2018 Events: Outer Cape
The Wellfleet OysterFest, in its 18th year, has returned for another weekend of food, drink and entertainment. During the two-day festival, families can enjoy arts and crafts shows, live music, cooking demonstrations, educational talks, and the much anticipated Oyster Shuck-Off Competition. OysterFest activities will take place on Main Street in Wellfleet on the 13th and 14th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and ticket sales support the Wellfleet SPAT, which donates college scholarships and community grants. The third year for this event features three days of literary panels, presentations and performances for writers and book lovers of all kinds.
A weekend packed with a variety of family-friendly events. Be sure to check out the Arts & Crafts Fair and Flea Market on Saturday and Sunday.
This year’s theme for the 13th annual festival is Wishful Thinking, with five plays by Williams as well as Chekhov, Beckett and other compelling playwrights.
