Bellew Tile & Marble: A Legacy of Family, Craft, and Community

When you step inside Bellew Tile & Marble’s Yarmouth showroom, you immediately sense the balance between inspiration and practicality. Gleaming displays of tile, stone, and luxury vinyl tempt the imagination, while the hum of contractors picking up supplies in the early morning hours reflects the heartbeat of the local building community. It’s a family business that has become both a trusted design destination for homeowners and a reliable resource for builders, designers, and trades across Cape Cod and the South Shore.

The Bellew family’s connection to tile spans three generations. Jimmy Bellew’s grandfather installed tile in the days when the choices were few and the process was personal. “He’d come home from work, put on a collared shirt, and head to someone’s house with samples in a briefcase,” Jimmy recalls. His father followed in those footsteps after returning from Vietnam, working long hours to support a growing family of eight children. In the early 1990s, he turned a dream into reality by opening a small, 1,000-square-foot tile shop in Rockland.

From that modest start, the Rockland store grew steadily. About 25 years later, after Jimmy’s own military service, the family encouraged him to come home and open a second location on the Cape. Today, the Yarmouth showroom—spanning about 6,000 square feet—operates in tandem with Rockland, sharing inventory, vendors, and the same dedication to service. Due to the family’s deep roots and continued commitment, the spirit of the business is always unified: it is family through and through. Jimmy’s brothers, sister, and mother continue to work at the Rockland store, keeping alive the commitment his father instilled before his passing three years ago. ...

Julie Craven Wagner began her experience with Cape Cod Life in 2010 when she joined the sales team after 10 years of working with local businesses on the Cape and Islands with WMVY. In addition to sales, she is the Associate Publisher/Editor of Cape Cod LIFE, Cape Cod HOME, and Cape Cod ART. Growing up on the Outer Cape has given her a unique perspective of life on Cape Cod, from tip to bridge, and that is reflected in her appreciation and presentation of stories found within the pages of our publications. Julie lives in North Falmouth with her husband, Eric, and their yellow lab, Enzo.
