You Can’t Be Optimistic With Misty Optics

LocalEyes team provides excellence in vision care to Cape Codders and washashores alike!

Located in the Orleans Post Office building at 56 Main Street, LocalEyes offers comprehensive eyecare. The facility bears little resemblance to the former practice of Dr. Paul Ciaccio who provided vision care to the community for over 40 years. Dr. Raymond Escher, a local optometrist who’s served the vision care needs of families across Cape Cod for over 50 years, purchased the practice in 2018 upon Dr. Ciaccio’s retirement and created LocalEyes Cape Cod.

Knowing the demographics of our aging populace, Dr. Escher upgraded the practice to better serve the needs of an aging populace. Advanced diagnostic equipment has been installed to detect macular degeneration up to three years before it is clinically observable, allowing early intervention and treatment of this sight threatening disease, laser scanning ophthalmoscopic photography offers high-definition retinal images to document eye conditions which the patient can view for better understanding and documentation of their eye condition, a computer to analyze the optical status of those affected by dementia, stroke, brain injury where communication is limited at best, and more.

“This practice is one of the most high-tech eye care offices on Cape Cod,” Dr. Escher says. “I accept emergency walk ins and treat most eye injuries and diseases including glaucoma.”

Dr. Escher mentions that many people are affected with Rosacea which often underlies chronic dry eye, “I am fortunate to have an esthetician on staff who provides IPL to treat rosacea and rejuvenate the skin addressing aging lines and wrinkles. She also provides eyelash extensions.”

He mentions that ocular esthetics is a growing part eyecare practices nationwide due to aging baby boomers.

Every 6 to 8 weeks the practice hosts an open house when representatives from unique European eyewear designers display their products. Major discounts are provided along with an opportunity to socialize. Refreshments and appetizers are provided and there is no obligation to purchase.

Their extensive lines of eyewear provide selections from artsy and fun to conservative with prices to fit most budgets. Dr. Escher says, “You can make your eyewear inconspicuous or flaunt the daylights out of them.”

Dr. Escher says he’s never worked with a more caring team of coworkers dedicated to providing the best care possible for each patient who walks through their door.

“You can’t be optimistic with misty optics,” Dr. Escher smiles. “That’s our slogan here.”
