Spotlight: Mid-Cape Home Centers
Lending A Helping Hand
This past September for the fourth consecutive year, Mid-Cape Home Centers in South Dennis hosted their popular First Responder Appreciation Day. The event featured a Touch-a-Truck, slime making, face painting, food, door prizes and plenty of family fun with so many smiling faces.
Mid-Cape’s Marketing Director Crystal Pieschel says, “It was great to see everyone in person again. It was our highest attendance we have seen in any year.” Pieschel adds that the family excitement was also at a peak this year, with parents, grandparents and children attending the Touch-a-Truck event, augmented by a K-9 demonstration, “…which the kids and their parents obviously loved.” A live radio DJ and a beautiful September day rounded out the festivities where attendees showed their appreciation and support for all the sacrifices first responders make for our community. “We raised over $40,000 this year—the most ever—thanks to a very popular silent auction and our generous business sponsors,” Pieschel acknowledges. This year’s proceeds benefit B Free Wellness Inc., a local female-founded organization that hosts the “Supporting the Front Lines” program, promoting the mental health and wellness of first responders; and the Sean M. Gannon Memorial Fund of The Cape Cod Foundation, dedicated to promoting the education, health, and leadership of local first responders by encouraging service through action.
