The Wee Packet
A Cape Cod Tradition Since 1949
Breakfast • Lunch • Dinner • Gift Shoppe
Tucked into the heart of Dennis Port at the corner of Depot Street and Lower County Road, The Wee Packet has been a cherished part of Cape Cod summers for 76 years. Family-owned and operated, this iconic restaurant has been lovingly run by the Shortt family for the past two decades.
From the moment you walk in, you’re likely to be greeted by owner David Shortt himself—whether he’s seating guests, making chowder from scratch, or baking his famous Irish soda bread or brown bread. With roots in Dublin, and an apprenticeship in the famous Jury’s Hotel (Dublin), David brings his heritage to the plate with authentic Irish breakfasts, corned beef hash, and a passion for hospitality.

The Wee Packet is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering something for everyone—from cinnamon swirl French toast and lobster rolls to day boat scallops, fried clams, and Cape Cobb Salad topped with lobster meat. Dine inside, on the front porch, under the covered patio—or grab a picnic table near the food truck for a take-out treat.
Right next door, the Wee Packet Gift Shoppe is a must-visit. Housed in a charming 200-year-old barn, the shop offers Cape Cod-themed home decor, locally made jewelry, toys, gifts for pet lovers, and exclusive Wee Packet merchandise—all hand-picked by Megan Shortt.
It’s truly a family affair—daughter Maeve waits tables, while twins Braden and Finnian keep things running behind the scenes. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or making your annual pilgrimage, The Wee Packet delivers great food, warm welcomes, and a true taste of Cape Cod tradition.
