Where hospitality is energized by art and art is rooted in endearing hospitality, the White Porch Inn Art Hotel provides a unique bed-and-breakfast (B&B) experience for guests. Tom Shirk and Felipe Lara’s concept delivers a fresh perspective on modern hospitality. Here, at the center of iconic Provincetown, the juxtaposition of old and new blend seamlessly throughout the inn’s coastal-chic halls. 

Strolling down Commercial Street, a famous stretch occupied by cafes, galleries, restaurants, shops, and eager tourists, turning onto Johnson Street offers a reprieve from the hustle and bustle. Just steps away sits The White Porch Inn Art Hotel. You won’t miss the exterior, which boasts a large white facade and an oversized porch dressed in rocking chairs and sofas. The inn houses 10 distinctive rooms—all with private bathrooms, flat-screen smart TVs, and refrigerators—named after iconic sites and lighthouses on the Cape. Many of the rooms host private entrances, spa tubs, private porches, and views of the Atlantic and Provincetown. You can even stay in the “penthouse” of the Inn where, as Shirk fondly says, “Cher stayed in the Penthouse. Yes, the Cher.” 

Shirk’s personal story with Provincetown dates back to the 1980s. “I have been coming here since the ‘80s, but my career took me all around the world—from Germany to Sydney to Washington, D.C. At one point my ‘home’ was in three different countries but Ptown was always calling me back.” When Shirk worked in the corporate world, he yearned for more from his career.
