Built by Cataldo Custom Builders and thoughtfully designed by Robin Arouca, this Green Pond home proves that contemporary architecture can be every bit as warm, inviting and family-centered as a traditional Cape retreat.

“Let’s design the kitchen,” Robin Arouca remembers saying, “and we’ll build the house around it.”
It is an unconventional way to begin designing a home, but then this was never intended to be an ordinary house.
Nestled into a quiet neighborhood overlooking Green Pond—with Vineyard Sound stretching beyond and Martha’s Vineyard visible on the horizon—the residence built by Cataldo Custom Builders was conceived around something far more important than square footage or architectural statements. It was designed around the life of its owner, a successful businessman whose greatest pleasure is bringing people together.
Family, for him, extends well beyond blood relatives. Grown children, lifelong friends, cousins, colleagues and neighbors all move easily through his world, and he wanted a home that would welcome them with the same generosity he naturally offers. Whether a weekend visit turns into an impromptu dinner party or a holiday gathering stretches long into the evening, the house was imagined as a place where everyone feels immediately at ease.
That philosophy guided every decision from the very beginning.
