If you happen to hear beautiful sounds of instrumental music and harmonious voices as you drive down Route 6A in Brewster, it is for a very good reason. The newly constructed Performing Arts Center on the Brewster/Orleans line is the new home for many musically motivated individuals. Paul Tingley, Program Coordinator for the Performing Arts Center says the newly opened facility is poised for a robust season of workshops, performances, lecture series and a popular summer camp for kids. “This will really be the first season after opening where the variety of programming and opportunities is firing on all cylinders.” 

Construction of the new state of the art space was completed in 2022, and offers performance, rehearsal and meeting space for several local music ensembles including the very popular Gloriae Dei Cantores, Chara Percussion Ensemble and the Outer Cape Wind Ensemble, which Tingley says has grown from an original six musicians to over twenty in recent months. The summer programs include daily and weekly camps for kids, a free in-person and livestreamed Arts and Entertainment Lecture Series with concerts and workshops, and a highly anticipated Opera Gala in August which will be the largest performance to date. 

With world-class acoustics and over-sized windows that provide plenty of daylight, the largest performance space in the exquisitely fabricated structure comfortably accommodates over 475 guests. Additional spaces have been designed with flexibility to provide audience seating for anywhere between 25 and 175 people. The center is open year-round offering vibrant programming intended to provide multi-generational enjoyment and inspiration through the Arts.
