After more than 20 years of providing Cape Codders with “one-stop shopping” for all their landscaping and irrigation needs, Steve Vetorino knows that the number one component of building a successful business is creating a rock-solid reputation.

Vetorino’s Landscaping & Irrigation offers the full gamut of services to customers Cape-wide, offering everything from irrigation systems, to experienced lawn care and landscape services, to patio and hardscape designs, and installation options. “It’s all about providing continuity,” says Vetorino.

An ability to meet the changing demands of the marketplace and react to new trends was put to the test recently for one project that Vetorino says is reflective of the company’s ability to meet the needs of each customer—and roll with unexpected developments and changing needs.

“What started out as a small project—clearing out some old stumps—led to clearing out the front yard for a new driveway,” says Vetorino from the company’s Barnstable offices. “We installed the driveway with a cobblestone apron and border. Next, we constructed a rock wall on the driveway’s back side and new walkways were put in. Then, we extended an existing patio and added a fieldstone fire pit.”

The Vetorino’s crew also put in a new hydro-seeded lawn and kidney-shaped planting beds. A few additional natural stonewalls were designed and built. Flowerbeds were installed—and a fountain feature was added as well as a patio area where the homeowner could enjoy views of Sandy Neck.

“We took down many trees and put in new plantings throughout,” Vetorino continues. “Then we provided irrigation for the new lawn and planting areas. This was a true vision from our client that we were able to make happen. Seeing such ideas become reality is the best part of my job.”
