Whether you’re near or far, AutoCamp Cape Cod is the perfect getaway to unplug and enjoy the great outdoors in style.

AutoCamp has made its way to Cape Cod! The California-based company that has taken the West Coast by storm is now in New England, opening its newest location in Falmouth.

Founded in 2013, AutoCamp has developed some iconic outdoor destinations along the West Coast over the years, in locations such as Yosemite National Park, Joshua Tree, the Russian River Valley, Zion National Park, and the Catskills Mountains. “The original idea for AutoCamp was to bring a sense of comfort and luxury to the outdoors,” shares co-founder and Chief Brand Officer Ryan Miller.

Soon settling on the idea of Airstreams, Miller says, “We realized that they are the perfect vessel to experience the outdoors in a way that is refined and comfortable.” Over the years, AutoCamp has developed a partnership with Airstream, becoming their exclusive hospitality partner. Airstream builds each of AutoCamps new Airstream Suites on their own dedicated assembly line, “The design is proprietary to AutoCamp,” explains Miller. “We curated this Airstream design and layout, perfecting it over numerous iterations.”

AutoCamp provides three different types of private accommodations at their Cape Cod basecamp. On site you’ll find their signature Airstreams, newly developed X Suites, some of which are ADA compliant, as well as Luxury Tents, each with their own individual variations. Every accommodation is outfitted as a hotel would be, with the added bonus of your own private campfire and grill to be enjoyed under the stars. “All of this collectively forms a really comfortable place to sleep, while maintaining the experience of being outdoors,” says Miller.

At their Cape Cod basecamp, AutoCamp’s signature Airstreams are available in three types: Classic Airstream Suites, Premium Airstream Suites and Vista Airstream Suites. All of AutoCamp’s 31-foot Airstreams sleep up to three adults or two adults and two children. Every suite is equipped with a fully functional kitchenette including a mini refrigerator, microwave, dishware, and glassware. The spa-inspired bathroom includes a walk-in Carrara Marble rain shower and vanity area,with luxe bath products by Ursa Major Skincare. A cozy sitting room features a soft sofa that converts into a full-sized bed and in the bedroom, you’ll find a queen-sized bed with luxury linens under a panoramic window. “Each interior was designed in-house,” explains Miller. “We have a really strong design team and they selected everything you see inside.”

If you’re looking for a little extra room during your stay at AutoCamp Cape Cod, their modern X Suites include Vista X Suites, Classic X Suite Accessible and Premium Accessible X Suites. “The X Suite is a new room type that we pioneered based on the layout of the Airstream,” shares Miller. “The amenities are virtually the same, however the X Suites have a lot more space.” In the bedroom you’ll find a queen-sized memory foam mattress with a wardrobe and picture window above the bed. The sofa in the living room expands into a fold out double bed and the kitchen is equipped with an electric stovetop, microwave, and mini fridge, practically everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. 

For those looking for a more authentic camping experience, AutoCamp Cape Cod also has two types of seasonal canvas tents, their Luxury Tents and Accessible Luxury Tents. Their spacious custom-made canvas tents sleep one to three adults, or two adults and two children with a memory foam king-sized bed and modern sofa that converts into a second bed. Unlike your average tent, these tents include lights, electrical outlets and even a mini fridge! Guests staying in tents have special access to the mid-century modern, chic Signature Clubhouse bathrooms with luxe bath amenities.

“The Clubhouse is a multipurpose building,” says Miller. “Check in is at the front desk and adjacent to the front desk is our General Store where we sell “grab-n-go” food, drinks, AutoCamp merchandise, and all the essentials you’ll need for a beach day.” Also inside the Clubhouse, guests can enjoy a café where cold brew, kombucha and other fun mocktails are available throughout the day. On the second floor a private meeting space has multiple functions. “It is a room that is designed for small to medium sized corporate and social events for groups who will be staying at AutoCamp,” shares Miller. “We’ve done a lot of corporate retreat business and smaller social events at our locations.” In the near future, AutoCamp Cape Cod will be available for fully-serviced booked events like weddings or company retreats, along with additional in-house programing such as yoga and cooking classes.

AutoCamp’s Clubhouse is inspired by Cape Cod’s modernist architecture, specifically the work of Walter Gropius, a German architect who is regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modernist architecture. To take on the task of building this masterpiece into the Falmouth landscape, AutoCamp partnered with Workshop APD, an award-winning firm based in New York whose work can be found locally around the Cape and Islands. “They worked on the architectural design of the property itself, the Clubhouse, as well as the interior design of the Clubhouse,” Miller shares.

In the summertime, all of the glass doors slide completely open in the Clubhouse, creating an indoor-outdoor experience with views of Buzzards Bay from the 1,000-square-foot, second-story  terrace. In the winter, the striking mid-century modern, floor-to-ceiling  fireplace invites you in with comfortable seating throughout, while diverse textiles give the room some additional warmth. “We tried to strike a balance between the beachy experience with that iconic color palette, while also bringing in the warmth of a modern winter home. The clubhouse is essentially a lounge, a lodge if you will. We wanted it to be a place that would be useable year-round because we’re open for every season,” says Miller. 

“There is nothing quite like AutoCamp in New England,” remarks Miller. “When we were looking to expand the AutoCamp brand nationally, we dialed into Cape Cod as a place we wanted to be because it is such an iconic outdoor destination with its summertime beach towns. We felt it would translate well into the AutoCamp experience.” 

During the day, guests at AutoCamp can explore the local towns, beaches, restaurants, hiking trails, and experience other local recreational activities of Cape Cod and the Islands. Beach cruiser bicycles are available to guests who eagerly access the Shining Sea Bike Path that runs through the property. “We like to refer to AutoCamp as the ‘basecamp’ and the other half of the equation is the amazing local experiences and destinations,” shares Miller. “Putting the two together we felt would bring to life an AutoCamp experience like you’ve never had before, all you really need to bring is yourself.”
