In 1983, husband and wife team Michael and Christy Duffany began M. Duffany Builders, with Michael out in the field and Christy managing the office while raising their sons, Todd and Tim. Today, the firm has forty employees and continues to uphold its familial values. For the past 16 years, Todd Duffany has been working for the business and currently oversees all of the field work and projects, while Tim has managed the business in the office for the past three years. “The nice thing is, after all of these years, it still feels like family. Everyone that comes on board gets involved in the culture here. We’re excited to keep continuing that along,” Tim shares.

M. Duffany Builders handles primarily residential work, specializing in building, remodeling, and property management for homeowners. Everything is focused on the customer, delivering a quality experience and maintaining long-term relationships. “We have subcontractors and clients we’ve worked with for over 30 years. There’s a lot of history and pride in maintaining that over the years. It’s key components like respect and trustworthiness that maintain relationships,” Tim says. Their clientele sees value in the long term, and M. Duffany strives to develop the right solution for individuals with quality and longevity at the forefront of it all. In design-build concept homes, their team has fostered strong relationships with various architects and designers to make clients’ dreams a reality. “A lot of folks will come to us with a vision, and we walk into the process to create that idea. We’ve had interesting dialogue with architects where we develop a process together in creating a product that everyone is excited about,” Todd shares. The team also works heavily in remodels and renovations, whether it be a kitchen, bathroom, basement, addition, or historic renovation project. “There’s a lot of pride in finding solutions to the not so simple problems. That’s where we spend a lot of our time,” Tim says. As an additional high-touch service, M. Duffany Builders offers property management to their new build and renovation projects, managing properties in the off-season and becoming that dependable contact for people’s homes. “It’s the relationships that make it all worth it. It’s trusting us to fulfill their needs moving forward,” Tim continues.

From an employment standpoint, M. Duffany Builders believes in being a place where employees can fulfill their dreams as well. “It’s about making this a place people are excited to be a part of, and making sure our employees are home for their families at night. We’ve developed a model that can be sustained,” Tim says.
