With a new year comes change; the inclination to revamp, update and make modifications that strengthen and improve us. In this spirit, we are altering a popular CCH feature, Next Wave, and launching, Mastering the Trade, a column where we will introduce you to local icons in the building industry, people who have made their mark in the many diverse lanes within the trade, enhancing Cape Cod and beyond with their knowledge, skill and expertise. It’s fitting that our first installation is with Mike Duffany, founder and owner of M. Duffany Builders, a company noted for their excellence in the building industry for 40 years. Duffany was recently voted president of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Massachusetts (HBRAMA) for 2024. CCH: Can you talk about your new role as president of HBRAMA?
MD: I’ve been very active in the Home Builders and Remodeling Association for years at the local level, acting as president and also sat on the Board of Directors for quite some time. I started attending state meetings and became very enamored in trying to help and to just be at the table when decisions were being made that would impact regulations and folks in the industry in our area. I wanted to make a difference.
CCH: What is some advice you would give to local tradespeople on the Cape?
