Don Sylor (1948-2013) was a professional photographer who truly loved taking photographs on Cape Cod. Although his studio and custom framing business was firmly established for over 40 years, the Cape offered photographic opportunities and subject matter unlike that of his hometown of Dansville in rural Western New York. His passion for the Cape was first sparked on his honeymoon there, and in later years he returned to capture the area’s beauty and grace in photographs, bringing his family on many trips. His first-ever submission to Cape Cod LIFE magazine resulted in the cover shot for the 2004 Cape Cod LIFE Annual Guide, an accomplishment that he was very proud of. For the remaining years of his life, he was a regular contributor to the magazine.
